T O P I C R E V I E WDeepFreezeI'm in no way a green thumb. lol I have a small palm plant that I got from my dads funeral service last Dec. So far it's surviving my "care". Haha What is it that they really love? Watering, direct/indirect light, lots of room in the pot, etc? RandallDoes it look like a palm tree?EllynlvxIf it's the one I'm thinking of, it likes moisture in the air.I keep my fern in the shower, that sort of environment is ideal. Not standing water, they like drainage, normally you don't want to transplant, they have to acclimatize.Your best bet is to put a layer of stones in a large flat container underneath, and keep watering Them.Oh course, you water the palm normally, but it has to drain. My Grandmother kept hers by the front door near the clouded glass, and it did wonderfully well. Those Parlour Palms are fussy.DeepFreezeI forgot to mention it's indoors and potted. It has many thin stalks much like a normal plant. No bark or anything like that. Maybe I'll see it I can get a picture up. That`s why they "usually" are in plant arrangements. In growing season, feed it every month to six weeks a complete fertilizer, with hold in winter and resume in spring.. Never let the soil dry out . Mites are it`s enemy so keep humidity high and plant evenly watered. Remove brown fronds when they appear and you will have a healthy long lived plant. Most palms are indirect light for all season growing. Some are full sun but not sure what yours is.... They love a summer out doors vaca too ------------------Christian, Jew, Muslim, Shaman, Zoroastrian, stone, ground, mountain, river, each has a secret way of being with the Mystery, unique and not to be judged.
